Soiree Beaujolais 2009

In an evening of free-flowing wine and exquisite French dégustacion, the Le Club French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines celebrated with the rest of the world the release of young red wines from the Beaujolais region of Southern France.
The annual Beaujolais Nouveau wine fest hosted by Le Club was held last November 19 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. The local French community's highly anticipated social event was a stunning success, drawing guests from business, society, and the diplomatic corps. They were served with free-flowing Beaujolais red wines from local French wine distributor Le Cellier. Guests were also treated with a grand dinner buffet that featured a wide range of traditional French cuisine and desserts prepared by Sofitel's culinary team headed by Executive Chef Marko Rankel.
Unlike the previous year's grandiose themed celebrations, which included Moulin Rouge-themed party, this year’s wine soiree took on a more somber mood. Nevertheless, French accordionists and street dancers provided the entertainment in the classic French style. A grand raffle draw was also held, with nearly Php900,000 worth of prizes - including a round trip ticket to Paris, France - given away to lucky guests.
