BULAWAN: THE GOLD OF CAMARINES NORTE

Noted artist and sculptor Dr. Joaquin Palencia unveiled his much-anticipated designs of gold jewelry in the unique exhibition Bulawan: The Gold of Camarines Norte. The exhibit showcased one-off pieces of precious gold jewelry harvested from Camarines Norte and produced by the craftsmen of the province.
To celebrate the opening of the exhibit, models paraded down the halls of the ArtistSpace of the Ayala Museum, wearing dresses created by the students of the School of Fashion and the Arts and donning the striking earrings, bangles, and neckpieces created by the renowned artist. Each of the items bear Dr. Palencia’s signature.
Cong. Nikki Prieto–Teodoro added glamour to the event and was on hand to help open the exhibit. Seen admiring the collection were personalities from government, business, and media, as well as academics and art enthusiasts who came to admire the nature-inspired designs.
The project was sponsored by the provincial government of Camarines Norte, the Department of Trade and Industry – Region V, the Bureau of Domestic Trade, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Camarines Norte, the Camarines Norte Investment Incentive Board, and the Camarines Norte Jewelry Producers Association.
