WINES WITH THE SIGNS OF NATURE
Wine Tasting Festival

French boutique wines specialist Sommelier Selection celebrated organic wines all the month of October 2009 in special food and wine pairing dinners held at Manila’s finest restaurants. Last October 30, wines featured in the dinners were uncorked once more at a grand party held to celebrate natural and organic wines.
Over a hundred very special wines, all produced by estates that adhere to the concepts of natural winemaking, were enjoyed by a select crowd at Makati’s WhiteSpace gallery. Oenophiles, chefs, business executives, and some of Manila’s most influential people came to sample organic wines from several French regions.
The gallery was divided into the wine-producing regions of France, and each bottle had a small card containing brief information and tasting notes. Guests also tried pairing the wines with various hors d’oeuvres and canapés of cheeses, patés, and meats. Guests were encouraged to hop from station to station, and note down the wines they liked. Not surprisingly, the merriment lasted well into the night until the last few bottles of the special wines were enjoyed.
